Learn About Us

In 2023 Caplor are proud to celebrate 100 years of the Williams Family contributing to a sustainable rural economy at Caplor Farm. Situated near the iron-age Capler Fort, in the beautiful Wye Valley, we are acutely aware of the effects of climate change on our environment.

Alarmed by the continued impact of climate change on farming practices, Gareth Williams saw the urgent need for renewable energy with Caplor Energy starting its renewables journey in 2007. First installing a range of energy solutions on the farm, we were one of the first renewable energy firms to be established and accredited with theMicrogeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

Today all Caplor Technologies are still first tested on our own farm, which gives us the ideal opportunity to pass on first-hand information to our customers and show them how the systems operate.

Gareth’s passion for urgent solutions to the climate crisis has developed into a growing and more national advocacy role.

Today Gareth is the Vice Chair of Solar Energy UK, Vice Chair and Company Director of theMicrogeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), has been the Environmental Advisor to the BEIS Science Team, and does routine advocacy work there. Member of the NALC Climate Change Group, recent Chair of HGN and Chair of the Business Futures Forum.
